That Pentium is still the best budget cpu out there. Nothing from the r5 lineup is priced anywhere near as low as it and for gaming it gets the job done.

I think the Pentium is pretty good value but an argument can be made for a higher-end CPU because it really doesn't cost much anymore to max out 1080p with a gcaphics card. Either way these are good times to be a system builder

Yeah but you also don't need much more than the Pentium until you get to the rx 480 and above. Prior to that the cpu bottleneck is very slim in the majority of games and nonexistent in alot of them. I do think that may change as more games like ghost recon wildlands and such start to come out but for the time being the Pentium seems like the better deal here because the gpu is going to have a bigger bottleneck if they get a nicer cpu and a worse gpu.
