Laptop crashing, error screen help

lonestar31

Can anyone give me some help with this problem? The computer won't boot properly and I keep getting this screen. Any help is appreciated.

It can't detect a boot drive. Have you installed Windows? If so, it's advising you pretty well: "Check cable connection!" That would be the SATA data and power cables going to your boot drive.

Whoops I'm dumb, it's a laptop. Hmm in that case, I would probably try to take out and reinstall the boot drive, possibly a dead HDD methinks.

New boot drive won't be too expensive, and Windows will auto-activate when it detects the same hardware these days so you should be good to just reinstall it without bothering with the activation key.

Problem is this laptop you have to dissect to replace the drive.

Yeah that's kind of lousy, looks like you may have no choice unfortunately.
