microsoft..... give'em hate

i NEED office, to get trough a school day, that is a plain fact! i need to electronically deliver my projects and and homework... open office is not supported. so i NEED microsoft office. i went for home and business so i could get outlook fore my mail application and when i was installing, it ended up costing me 25bugs.... i was not paying attention and managed to click at the wrong language. this for MANY others is not a problem BUT.... microsoft do not allow you to change language after choosing language the first time..... so i had to buy a language pack fore the language i really intended to have.... they are literally getting paid fore a settings change..... WTF!!!!! when amd mantel is a thing and i am done with school.... microsoft is dead to me.... windows 8, microsoft acounts, and that fuckings directX.... they have dug their own graves

microsoft NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

How is Open Office not supported? You can save files so they can be opened with excel etc. Also, excel (and or other stuff that office comes with) is a useful tool for everyday life anyway, chances are you will be using it for other things as well and not just school.

You should have gotten Microsoft Office 365 University. 70$ US/Canadian and you have it for 2PCs, and you have:

-> Word, Excel, PowerPOint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Publisher

-> 20GB SkyDrive space

-> 4 year subscription, if a new Office comes out, you are upgraded to it for free, as long at the subscription is valid.

As you got normal Office, I don't get why you can't just re-install and pick a different language, unless you mean when you bought it, but that is your fault. Let alone didn't realize after you went through the ENTIRE setup, that it was in the wrong language, and activated the copy of Office. If it was the wrong language you could contact Microsoft, and have it switch as you didn't activate Office yet.

I find it impossible that LibreOffice cannot be used unless you are doing some crazy stuff with spreadsheets, for word documents and presentations just select .docx (or for ensured compatibility .rtf) and .pptx respectively and hand in the work, no-one would be the wiser.

 

Also you language, spelling and grammar are terrible, it's almost like you are going out of your way to be _that_ bad, take more care and attention and stupid mistakes like selecting the wrong language will not happen in future.

yeah, i just needed to rant a bit... i know it was my fault, i was just so angry about the fact that if you do select the wrong laguage you cant just delete the installation settings on your microsoft account. and if you happen to select the wrong language you have no way to spot it unless you go back in the setup procedure, to the page where you select language and check there .

the only reason i use windows at all, is that i cant play all the games i want on any other OS natively. of course you can use software like Wine to play some games. but i want to be able to be in ubuntu, insert a disc or download a installer and have it all just work. 

 

so far i have got the impression that mantel will take the role of DirectX so game devs will be able to program the game so you can play them on any OS if you have the correct hardware. if that is wrong, please link some good and thorough explanations so i can find out if i can replace all that's is microsoft with linux :D

NO! i did not buy the wrong software. i just selected one wrong setting by accident.... and i called their support and the only solution they gave me was buying a language pack

 

and if i am not mistaking mantel will give me the choice to leave microsoft and use ubuntu even for gaming in all titels that supports mantel :D and since ubuntu is currently the best OS (my thought there) i cant wait until mantel kicks directX's behind

HAHA! i know :D beeing a dyslexic and all :P i have a big enough challange just writing correctly in my own language :P not all of us have English as their mother tongue u know
