I'm planning to build a new PC sometime in early or mid 2018. I'll be using it for music production, gaming, game modding, photo editing and also programming in Python.

These are my requirements:

Spoiler

ATX Motherboard

Ryzen 5

up to £625 budget.

At least 8-12GB RAM

Thanks in advance :)

Build related: I've heard bad things about post times on the MSI bios (may be worked out) but to be safe I usually say asrock or asus prime (whichever is cheaper).

Non build related I think the best advice for @1kv is to look at current prices, figure out a budget and then save the cash and buy in one go. If you buy a 1600 now and it sits on a shelf for 12 months you will have missed out on Zen2 which will have the same MSRP most likely. Buying this way just means your components will depreciate in value. Its like buying a car piece by piece, by the time you are finished there is a better engine available for the same money.

I agree. Thank you all for your ideas, suggestions, and builds.
