My computer randomly crashes, it's not BSOD, I checked BlueScreenView, it doesn't matter, it's not under load specific, browsing, idle, or gaming, my scren goes black, but all the fans and stuff in my case keep spinning, and I have to hard reset my computer, I just opened the case up, cleaned it out, and pushed my connections back in, so if it doesn't happen again I'll now that's what it was, but I would like to keep my troubleshooting options open since it's super random (happened twice in the last hour, but not at all yesterday) it's been happening for a few weeks now.

The first thing I would check would be the power supply and how well its connected to a power source.  My next place would be the motherboard, but before anything else I would try run a virus scan if possible.  It might sound paranoid but theres no harm in doing a 2 minute scan with Malwarebytes AntiMalware

Try the following:

1. Update graphics drivers to newest/beta/old drivers and see if it doesn't solve issue.

2. Try changing graphics card power cable to another 3/4 pin or to the molex adapters.

3. Run sfc /scannow on command line.

4. Check event viewer and see what errors appear around the time that this is happening--it is important you note the exact time it happens. Usually power events are the ones caused by you by force shutting down the PC, so ignore those.

5. Basics: Check cable to/from card to monitor(s)

Longshots:

1. Run deep virus scan, recommend ComboFix if you're brave.

2. Run system repair via Windows installation disk

3. BIOS update

If any of this works, you owe me a beer or five. If it doesn't, we never spoke.

corrupted sys32 files?

Doubt it, never messed with any serious windows files, not to mention I don't think that was cause such random crashes

gpu faulty?

I thought that too for a bit, but it started happening so randomly, and after the monitors go black I still get sound for ~10 seconds before sound goes too.

I just did that last night, no crashes since, but it'll take a few days to see if power cable was the issue. I run virus scans weekly, with Avast, Microsoft Security essentials, Malware Bytes and Spy Bot, so it isn't likely virus.

1. Up to date

2. Will try if it happens again

3. No errors

4.Will do that if it happens again too

5. Did that one last night when I opened the case and checked all my connections

Long shots

1. Not a virus

2. Might try that after everything else

3. Bios is likely up to date, updated it in August,

PS Thanks for the help everyone, just a waiting game now before I try anything, fingers crossed it was a loose connection

Take the graphics card out and connect your monitor to the dvi or vga port on the motherboard.

Your cpu has Intel Hd Graphics.

Turn on your pc for a while and see if the screen goes black.

If it doesn't it probally means that the graphics card is the fault.

Computer has run without fail for 12 hours or so, hope I don't jinx it by saying it was just a loose connection. I'm still on my toes for another few days.
