I'm currently upgrading my GPU. I've removed my old GPU. Problem is I can't lay my pc flat because the cables in the cable management area in the back are too fat. If I lie my pc down, it crushes the cables.

So my question is, is it safe to insert the new GPU with the pc standing upright?

Yeah.

Just make sure you aren't leaving it supported only by the PCIe slot for too long, or else it puts undue stress on the motherboard to hold up an entire GPU.

Does that look like it's in to you? Looks like the clip may still be down...

you can manually flip the clip up if it doesn't lock itself in

other than that, you just need to make sure that the gold contacts aren't visible, and that they're fully inside the PCIe slot.

GPU installed.

So when I booted up, my bios said something along the lines of 'chassis intruded fatal error system halted'.

I restarted, windows boots this time but it had to repair my ssd? It's now loaded up the fine.

What's going on?

Edit: I cautiously unplugged, then replugged my SSD from PSU in order to reach the 6pin for my GPU.

Page 1-13 of your manual, there's a sensor that keeps track when the case is open, just disconnect it and it'll be fine
