Im building a pc at the moment, and i was wondering which ryzen 5 is more worth it. My cpu budget is around 220€, and i can only boy on amazon.fr/de. I intend to use it to render and game. Do i take a 1500, 1600, or 1600x?

thanks,

Lukas

@Fluffybakon

1600 is the gem of the R5 line up. Can be overclocked to 1600X levels and beats the 1500X with its 2 extra cores.

If you must buy from .de

1600 is a very sweet spot for gaming while the 6c/12t will help out on rendering a lot.

I'd do the 1600, it's only about 20€ more than your target and it's a great value.

1600 is only €6 more than his target from his choice of retailers.

no never buy an X model. They are all unlocked. You get a stock cooler with the 1600 that you don't get with the 1600X and you can easily overclock the 1600 to perform the same as the X model.

The X is just a pre applied factory OC

it's really the best choice right now since Intel got outdated by Ryzen as for right now, the R5 1600 will give you a very good life span since its 12 threads will ensure the CPU can be matched with high end GPUs for a good while now, unlike the Intel competing i5 7600k that's already getting fully maxed out even by a GTX 1070 depending the title since it's very limiting 4threads only.

It's a good pick, get a b350 motherboard so you can overclock it.
