Corsair H100i V2 Temps too high??

Hello.

Last week i issued an RMA because the pump on my H100i V2 stopped working.

I got the package today and i installed it as usual.

The thing is that, i started the pc and the temps seemed normal until i tried stressing the cpu to see how much it would cool.

I tried with prime95 and the temperatures went to 95°C then i stopped but it could go higher i thik.

95°C seems too high even for an AIO.

My specs are:

Intel I7 6700k

EVGA 1070 SC

EVGA Supernova 750G2

16GB of GSkill RAM

I really don't know what is causing the high temps, last time i tried prime95 the temps wouldn't get higher than 75 °C

Today i am going to try and buy some thermal paste and see if that may fix the problem.

Also when i started the pc just after changing the AIO, the temps went to 60°C with just corsair link open.

What do you guys think??
Have you had any similar problem??

Have you connected power to the pump itself via sata?

I recommend Aida64 over Prime 95, P95 seems to fry CPU's too much.

Have you overclocked?

Are you sure the voltage on the CPU isn't messed up?

which version of prime95 are you using? i know for devils canyon you wasnt supposed to use anything over 26.6 as it made the temps go crazy high.

I would double check your screws. Make sure they are tight.

My cousin came to me complaining his AIO was failing...H100i GTX. It was weird because when I installed it, the temps were good. Well, turns out he remounted the cooler, but the screws were only hand tightened on the pump...after I tightened it down, it dropped from 90C to 60C....

Sorry for the late reply guys.

I just got back from class and i got the thermal paste ready to go.

These are my temps and CPUID.

I am going to apply it now and see if i screwed up the mounting because 50 °C  seems too high and i just started the pc.

Turns out the backplate screws were a bit loose.

I made it by hand and they didn't go all the way so i made sure they went (almost) all the way now.

Temps seems normal now it didn't go over 60C on the first couple of minutes of prime95 this time.

The thermal paste + tightening the backplate solved the problem.

Thank you guys for helping me out!
