Need an old Radeon GPU

I'm looking for a old radeon GPU from 2009-2012 to go along with my Phenom x6 to make it feel more appropiate for the time period.
I currently have an HD 5830, but since I'm gonna to be using a 144Hz 1080p monitor rather than an old HP 5:4 1280x1024 monitor, I need more GPU horsepower and vram.
2GB is the minimum.

The point is not to max a game out, but to play it comfortably at medium-high, and games from it's era to max out nicely, a well as esports game, LoL, Overwatche, and AA games like Warface and Warframe.

I don't wanna spend more than $80.

A 7970 costs $140 apparently, when a $89 RX 460 2GB is slightly better than it.
So hoping to avoid that.
So basically, from a HD 5870 to a HD 7970, under $80, if someone can help me find one. :c

6990? That thing exists? I remember the 5970 was a dual gpu and the 7990 was a thing. Didn't know there was a 6990. What'd you think it costs?

Wow, i found one on Ebay bidding at $51, but I don't do that sort of thing. Wouldn't it be the same if I Xfire'd 2 6970s?

I could only find one 6990 on Ebay, but there's a bunch of 6970 for around oh, $45. Think that'd do justice?

Yes, but beware - X6s bottleneck with 970 or equiv from my experience.

I hear that much, and I know.
That's why this is gonna be old, and stay old :3

I'll be building a Ryzen 7 rig soon enough, but only after Vega.
No RX 500 series for me.

I only have 4 sadly, but since I intend to rebuild this setup with a newer ASRock 970A-G3.1, I'm going to be adding in 8GBs of Hyper X, new PSU, cooler, case, etc, that's why I need a new video card. I'm gonna squeeze the life out of this thing. :3
Phenom x6 is my favorite AMD series CPU, least before Ryzen. :3
