I was looking into the whole Ryzen vs Intel and I was wondering which is better for gaming and multiple process loads :

The Ryzen 1800x vs The Intel 7700k

And On top of this I heard intel is coming out with the new x299 soon so do I wait for the new cpu and mobo combos coming out on a ddr4 ram platform basis that should be 1600-4k+ mhz speeds

Gaming: 7700K

Multiple process loads: 1800X

Gaming and light multiple process loads: 7700K

Multi process loads and light gaming: 1800x, but 1800x is bad value - get 1700 or 1700x and a good board and OC that sucka

idk

Totally depends on usage.

I love gaming so that's one of the priorities, but on top of that I do music making, web design, streaming this summer, ethical hacking, coding, etc. So I need something that can get the job done, but still have a lot going for it if I overclock it and do encryption on it.

Definitely Ryzen in that case. You trade 15% FPS in games for significantly better multitasking, streaming, etc performance.

idk

Go with Ryzen then.

You sure its not worth waiting for the new x299 coming out from intel, I know that ryzen will be a lot more beneficial but the tough part is knowing that something new from intel is coming out and might our perform it with a cheaper factoring.

Apparently it's meant to be unveiled at Computex Taipei, so if you're willing to wait like 2 months you may see difference and retaliation from good old Shintel.

It is a long wait but that's when summer starts, but Im guessing the products might not even hit the market for another month or so after right ? God gaming and pc building sucks when it comes to waiting for new things to come out )))))_____________(((((

Hmm if I can get a 1800x for around the same price as the 1700x should I hop on that train and ride it

It's the good old 'crash' riddle.

You get paid (more CPU power) for every month on the train. The longer you stay on the train (on the fence from buying), the more you get. But you take the risk of the train crashing (bad launch/wasting money) by staying on the train.

idk

Its going to be an Intel extreme chips, which have proven to be very very expensive. You buy one of them with the intention of not replacing it till a whole new architecture comes out or you need that raw power or your just rich.

I stream on Twitch TV and 2 months ago I was on the forums looking to build an optimal PC and everyones response was a Ryzen cpu..... that said I went against the grain and got a 7700k and OMG. I play PUBG at high settings, run youtube music, OBS on high settings 3000 kb/s while running alerts and various other tasks while I'm streaming while gaming and never drop a frame on stream. CPU usage...... 35% NOTHING OVERCLOCKED. stream looks crispy check out my past broadcast twitch.tv/thypnotics

So with all that being said a 7700k isn't just a gaming CPU its a multi use CPU aswell

I have the money but I still dont think it will be much more better than the pricing package of a ryzen cpu chipset right now

Ryzen will jsut push out a couple more fps while steaming/gaming, though recording will use more of the CPU than streaming. Streaming requires more bandwidth.
