is product key required?

i reinstalled windows on my laptop as it was affected by virus. i used windows media creation tool for this. i selected windows 10 pro 64 bit. i selected option of giving product key afterwards it shows activate windows at bottom right. if i dont activate it will anything go wrong? if so pls can any one give me any spare product key you have?

Use the key you already have, if this doesn't work call the MS service line..

Just go into the setting activate windows and MS should recognize your motherboard and activate it. You only ever need to enter the key the first time.

You have an OEM or you had a valid/"valid" windows 7 and took advantage of the free upgrade

Either way you likely got a digital entitlement so ya your ok to just click activate windows 10 in the settings.

You have laptop. Unless you have one of those extremely cheap laptops that come without OS from the start (or with linux), your key is imprinted into mobo. When you click to Activate, it will read key from security chip.
