How long is MSI RMA?

Chuck38

Hi folks,

I'm wondering how much longer I should expect to wait before MSI either repairs my graphics card (MSI R9 380 4GB) or sends out a replacement.

On March 23rd I requested an RMA, the HDMI port went out, and on the 24th it was approved. They received the card on April 4th. (I got an email saying they received it). According to the first email I got it should have taken no more than 15 business days. Well, 15 business days have come and gone. Any idea how much longer it may take?

I don't mind waiting, that's fine. I'd just like to have an idea of when I can expect to get it back.

Thanks!

-Chuck

this is the only answer your going to get here: ask their support, we don't know about their internal affairs :P  there could be a lot of reasons why it takes longer than expected but in case they forgot or lost it you should contact them to be sure.

Alright, I'll call them up tomorrow and see what's up.

don't forget to ask the employees name if they don't tell you themselves, if it takes longer again then ask for that employee and explain that that employee said it would take so and so long. that puts more pressure on them to actually fix it because now they actively have to deal with you instead of just smooth talking you into hanging up. (not saying they will but ya know customer support can be absolute bollocks.

Ain't that the truth.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to do so.

Realized that its only 4:21 in CA. So I'm talking with now. The support guy I got is looking into it now.

Sitting on hold listening to guitar music while he does that....

Soo... apparently the support guy, Jose, was able to get in contact with someone higher up who will talk to the RMA director and will then send me an email with the details about my graphics card. Should expect to get the email in the nest 24-48 hours.

Whenever in doubt, just call them up. You should keep your e-mails in a designated folder for safety and easy retrieval. Hopefully MSI helps you out.

I do have all of the emails MSI sent me. So if they need any of that information I can easily pull it up for them.

Hopefully they'll get it figured out and send me out a new card or a repaired old card, who knows.

Well, they aren't going to be able to send out a replacement so instead they are going to send me a check for $200.

So I'm gonna buy a GTX 1060 from EVGA.
