Buy the cheapest CPU you can find that'll do the job, update the bios (or have the shop do it if you're worried about bricking it) and then sell the cheap CPU.

Or, ask the shop if they'll do the update free or at a cheaper price if you let them keep the cheap CPU afterwards as part of the deal.
