Hi everyone, sorry for my english I'm a french-canadian !

I had a wireless card on my pc since the first day I build it. It is that one :

TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 450MBPS Dual-Band Wireless N PCI-E Adapter Atheros 3T3R 2.4/5GHZ 802 11A/B/G/N

http://www.ncix.com/detail/tp-link-tl-wdn4800-450mbps-dual-band-wireless-9b-69169.htm?promoid=1500

The router that I have is located far away from my computer.

When I do a speedTest with my samsung galaxy s7, I get these results :

    Download - 30.53Mbps

    Upload - 8.78Mbps

When I do it on my pc, I get :

    Download - 14.40

    Upload - 6.57

Is it my card that slow me down and if so, can someone tell me what should I buy ?

P.S: My internet provider is providing me 45Mpbs - 10 Mpbs

Thank you and have a good day ! :)

I don't think your WiFi card is slow. Check the computer, make sure you don't have any programs that are using up internet on your computer. Sometimes computers get filled up with programs that just slowdown your WiFi connection. Check it with programs like Malware-bytes and Spy-Bot Search and Destroy.

Another thing to check is to make sure there are no power cables that are too close to the WiFi Antennas on the back of your PC. They can cause interference and slow down the WiFi card.

If all else fails try moving the computer or router closer to each other and see if that helps, your PC may have a weak signal. WiFi works best when it has a direct line of sight, meaning there is nothing between the computer and router.

What band are you using (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz)? How many walls are between you and the router? What are the walls made out of? What kind of distance are you looking at between you and the router?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
