Upgrade advice

Hey guys,

 

I have a rig I've been using for about 5 years now an I think it's time to do abit of upgrading, currently I have 

 

Motherboard z77-ds3h

CPU intel i5 3750K 3.4ghz

CPU cooler zalman cnps10x

Ram corsair 8gb 4x2 1600mhz 

Gpu msi r7770

Ssd corsair force 120gb

Psu tagen 480w 

Case zalman z11 plus

 

and think of the following to upgrade too 

 

Just won't to get over opinions if this is a good idea or to change anything, going to a computer fair in a few weeks so hopefully pick these up cheaper there if not order online

I find that PSU to be ALOT more than I find but if it floats your boat. and I dont think you will get any bottle necks

Try and squeeze an rx 480 and I'd say your spot on.  Consider a different PSU though  (think cheap 520W seasonic)

RX 480 or 580, 550W PSU and SL308.

For RAM, since DRAM prices are pretty high right now with no end in sight, why not buy used? You can buy DDR3 pretty cheap from CEX, and as long as you don't mind having RAM that might not match with your current stuff this is a good idea. I can pretty much safely say it'd be very hard to find RAM cheaper than this. Plus you get a two year warranty from CEX themselves, and most RAM has lifetime warranties anyway.

Get a 570 if you can, unless you find a 470/480 reduced.

As for the SSD, the only differnce you'd notice is that you got a bigger SSD. The speed difference between different SATA SSDs is neglegible. So it's fine getting an SSD that's not a Samsung for cheaper.

Personally I would recommend the CX550M over the M12II.

The M12II is a couple £ cheaper and uses nicer components. It's also got a 5 year warranty, that's longer than the CX500M's 3 years.
