Headphone jack not working on motherboard

I have the Gigabyte  B85M-DS3H-A Motherboard and I have everything connected properly. The headphone jack doesnt work on my case and nor do the ones on the motherboard. Is there any way to fix it?

Is your volume muted?

seems strange that both jacks don't work. so it seems like a software issue.

If you've already tinkered with all the settings and still can't get it to work, it could be hardware. Try something like https://www.amazon.ca/AUKEY-Aluminum-Headphone-Microphone-Computers/dp/B01MU5SIGD/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492966129&sr=8-1&keywords=aukey+usb+sound+card 

I have one for my laptop at work, where the sound card was noisy (static). Plug this in, and speakers into it, and problem solved!
