AM3+ missing pin

So I have an Amd FX-6300 that has a missing pin right were the red square is on the image (My camera sucks so I just grabbed an image off Google) and I can't find a proper pinout of an AM3+. I want to get an Am3b (Am3+ and Am3 compatible?) motherboard for it but first I want to know if it will work? From what I can see its either a ground, no connection or power connection.

I tried soldering pins on a dead Am2 cpu, I could solder pins but if the solder pad came off there was nothing to solder the pin to and the Fx-6300 is missing the pad and the pin.

what is this pin porn? check with google if your motherboard supports your CPU. There is a good chance it does.

 

Also I can see at least one other pin on AM3 less than AM3+. You stressin bout nothin

My thoughts were that if anything it might just make it harder to overclock it (if it is a power pin).

I'd assume that it is non essential and is likely just there to stop you inserting it into an AM3 only motherboard.

Also get something like 24G Kanthal and drop it in where its supposed to go.

Or get a sacrificial CPU

Oh sorry didn't realize that was AM3 not AM3+.

24G is the gauge and kanthal is a small type of wire. I have some from vape stuff, but you can use it in replacement of a CPU pin

@TubsAlwaysWins Alright I just googled 24G Kanthal and got really confused thanks for the tip that will probably be useful in the future, also I do have an older am2 Cpu that I delidded only to crush the die later on that I have been using to practice replacing pins.
