The last piece need for starting new system. CPU

I am doing a system that cost me  about 382 U.S. dollars so far. I will be adding wifi, additional cha fan, and a better cpu cooler later.

What I need is a cpu to start the assembly.

Here are the things I will be doing on it:

1080 gaming

maybe mmo

Drawing programs Auto desk, gimp, ink (not heavy work)

(max multi-tasking potential)

college stuff

web browser

music streaming

Microsoft office

playing movie or personal music

<possible at home providing customer service>

What is the best for the money and power needed Intel CPU. MAX amount maybe willing to spend $200 but want the lowest cost cpu to handle my work.

PS higher the cpu cost, longer the assembly will have to wait.

I would get a B250 mobo instead and get a G4560, note though that your psu isn't very good.

What is your total budget? I could make a parts list.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

I also have a 1050ti, and I've got an i3 7100, it's a dual core with 4 threads running at 3.9Ghz.

It can handle any game at high settings in 1080p, as well as some light audio and Photoshop work, encoding movies with Plex, etc.

Does you mum know you're here?

The BIOS versions that support BCLK OC on Z170 motherboards don't support Kaby Lake unfortunately. Of course, since Kaby is only higher clocked Skylake, you can get an i3-6100 and OC it and still get better performance than a G4560. Or you can get an i5-6400 and easily hit 4.5Ghz on it which is a massive overclock.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

No, especially not with a non-z series board.

It was only n Z series board were you could BCLK overclock the locked CPUs and those were with bioses released before Kaby Lake. To use Kaby Lake on a mobo you need to use the newer bioses that were made after Kaby Lake was released, that don't support BCLK overclocking (since that feature was removed from bioses before Kaby Lake was released). It's possible to BCLK overclock Skylake CPUs but only with older bioses on 1xx series boards, but it's physically impossible to do it with Kaby Lake CPUs.

I already have the intel motherboard, I don't understand the Ryzen well enough or its actual potential.

Yes it will work like a charm! You don't need a kaby lake processor, there is only a 5% performance difference between Skylake and Kaby Lake, don't buy a i3 please. Not worth it.

Then you know it's true. Honestly don't buy kaby lake if you don't need to, because you don't. The only time we choose kaby lake cpus is if the board was already updated to support kaby or 2, the board from manufacturer supports kaby lake. So in this case you're board supports skylake, and it can support it with kaby lake through a bios update but it can be very risky. So just buy the i5 6400.

If you have any old parts to sell such as pc parts, people tend to always buy em.

:o.

Do you have the other stuff? Specifically PSU, as it isn't very good...

Do you have a CPU that works in the mobo?

The thing is, the G4560 is a very good deal of a CPU, but there's a chance it won't work with an H110 mobo depending on what bios it has on it. B250 ones are guaranteed to work.

I guess, BQ isn't the best but it isn't horrid.

G4560 would be the best pick EXCEPT I can't be sure if it'll work with your mobo, depending on how late of a bios it has.
