Ryzen Samsung B Die ram?

I keep hearing that ryzen needs Samsung b die ram to hit 3200mhz. Will this be fixed in the future to allow all types to hit 3200, or is it a hardware issue?

Also, does 3200mhz ram bring ryzen up to i7 levels of game performance? I keep hearing conflicting reports on this. I want to Max or near max GTA 5 and a few other games at 1080p.

yes samsung b die is preferred and yes i do think that ram sticks that are compatible with ryzen will be released soon (gskill fortis & firex you can buy these already) and i guess some motherboard optimizations.

it does not bring the fps number up to the i7 7700k levels, but you will game just the same even with slower ram.

GPU drivers giving you a hard time? Try this! (DDU)

If you're only playing games a 76 or 7700K is probably better suited to you. As for RAM on Ryzen... I tried some cheap G.skill 3000Mhz stuff and couldn't get it past 2666. now I've swapped it out for G.skill Ripjaws V 3200Mhz and I get 2933. I'm hoping the next bios update will allow me to get the full 3200 out of it.  Basically you get what you pay for with RAM on Ryzen so if you buy good stuff you'll probably have better luck overclocking it (for now anyway)

I could get a locked i7 and a b250 Mobo for almost the same price as ryzen. Should I go with that?

no, the only reason the i7 is faster is because it overclocks all the way upto 5ghz. if you get a slow locked one you are getting 0 benefit from going intel.

Yep looks positive I have the same RAM as you I got it when Ryzen first came out and every bIOS since has improved it I started at 2400 and went up incrementally since with the last 2933 as you.

Wouldn't ryzen be more futureproof with 6c/12t and the fact that am4 will live on for 4 more years vs LGA 1151 which is pretty much dead? Is the unlocked i7 THAT much better than ryzen at 1080p that it's worth an extra $100?

An i5 is not an option. 100% usage and stuttering in bf1. That chip has no future.
