External monitors while gaming

Hello,

 

I have two 1440p monitors at work that I use and am considering totally replacing the desktop given to me by my firm.  On my lunch breaks, I generally play games because why not?  Anyway, would connecting both 1440p monitors(ultrawides may I add) affect gaming performance?

Maybe a RX 580 would do the trick? Or a GTX 1070. Not even THAT expensive of GPUs

For cheaper setups, not particularly, the 1070 is pretty expensive in my mind

I would be playing games on the laptop's screen, not the monitors themselves.  Those would just be on the side, and most likely wouldn't have anything open on them while gaming.
