32-bit VMWare

Go to solution Solved by YedZed,

I figured it out!

Within the Workstation directory, there is a folder called x64. This folder contains all of the actual software needed to run the VM. So the root program is 32 bit, but the real worker is a 64 bit VMX application that is started by the original!

YES!

in my experience there could be bugs with the 64 bit and some of the older software people usually use VMware to run on OS's like Win XP and such. This could be why.

Ohhh cool. Also, I've been trying to run Win10 within Win10 within Win10. Internet seems to imply this is a very very bad no good rotten idea...

I didn't know if he was referring to ESX Server, the Workstation product, etc.  I use both in my environment at work.  I was asking for specifics so I could try to search for him.  Also, while I admit to being wrong about many things, perhaps you shouldn't assume.

I appreciate your commentary and insight however.
