I don't know how big your SSD is, but I recommend to put the 2 OSs on the same drive, and have your programs and data in a location that both can have access like your HDD or on your SSD if you have room (put games and data on your HDD).

In other words:

3 partition on your SSD

-> (C:\) Windows 7

-> (D:\) Windows 8 (Windows 8 will show the drive as C:\, and your actual C:\ will be D:\... so don't freak out. This is actually not new to Windows I think XP used to do this as well)

-> (E:\) All your programs that you want to start quickly (in Windows 7 you install them, then go in Windows 8, and install the same program, over the program already install.) There will be no conflict, and you save space! No need to have the program twice on your drive. :D

And your games and personal files on your E:\ Drive so that both OS can access them.

I think it's doable in grub (a linux bootloader).

As far as windows is concerned I'm not sure.

But this is what I would try to do:

Install one on each drive.

Set the boot order so that the one you want to use more often is the default one, and if you want to boot the other one just press F8 (may be different on your system) at boot and select the drive.

if you install both there will be a menu on boot to start whichever one you want. like grub but it's windows bootloader.

but I'd repartition the SSD and install both there depending on the size of the SSD.

Will work for electronic components and parts
