So I'm not too familar with smart watches but does anyone know any good ones for working out? I'm currently in the military so staying in shape is important so I am looking for something that can measure the distance I go and if possible, my heart rate and/or blood pressure (more looking for heart rate, knowing my blood pressure would jsut be nice, and does not require a smart phone to be near it as theres long periods during the day I am not allowed to have a phone.

i'm still of the opinion that the entire concept of smartwatches blows chunks, but i'm REALLY interested in what fitbit is doing, because they're essentially already familiar with fitness trackers, and are now just slapping some "smartwatch" functionality overtop.

it's the same way as i see the difference between iOS and android:

one is a multimedia device you can also make phone calls with

the other is a phone you can also use as a multimedia device

(note: this doesnt apply as much anymore now, but it used to in the early days of both)

the question you should ask yourself is if you want a smartwatch that's also a fitness tracker, or a fitness tracker that's also a smartwatch.

their fitness trackers were bluetooth already, adding smartwatch stuff on top of that is appareantly working really well for them.
