Indexing: on or off?

I use Windows Search rarely to look for files. However, I use the search feature on the Start menu to look for programs such as Control Panel, Disk Cleanup, cmd, Defrag, etc.

 

Before the Creators Update, Start menu searches were slow as hell for some reason. But after that they are now lightning fast.

 

So should I enable or disable indexing?

I just leave it on. Don't notice any performance delta whatsoever.

Leave it on. You can turn it off for SSDs, but it won't do much for anything else.
