Well, maybe you get distracted easy and jump from site to site by "Open new tab" :P At home, I usually stay below 10 because I focus on one thing, but at work I usually go beyond 50, since I work / research multiple thing at the same time or postpone them for a few hours / days. There is a nifty Chrome Extension (Tab Manager?) that lets you group tabs together in a hierarchy and assign names to Windows (best feature ever!), which helps with structuring. So there's one window for Topic A, one for Topic B and so on - each with multiple tabs open. And you simply get to the right window via the extension and don't go mad using Windows features :D

Anyway, whats bad about having loads of tabs open? Despite the fact that Chrome eats up 50% of my RAM :D

I usually have 100's of tabs open, but since I use Vivaldi I stack the tabs by type so youtube is a stack, and news is a stack and LTT is a stack, and then I use an extension called The Great Suspender which kills the tabs after 30 minutes of inactivity so I don't run out of ram

I would, if I could. I currently have 8GB RAM and I'm on Windows 10, but because I'm a digital art hobbyist I have a program that also uses up a lot of RAM, meaning I can't have as many tabs in Chrome as I want. Any more than 6 and Chrome will crash.

Didn't have this issue on Windows 7, where I usually had about 25 open (6 of them pinned. I also have Chrome set up so it opens my stuff when I start the program again)
