Hi!

I recently started to be interested in streaming. But I have small problem - basically every game i try to stream is lagging.
Even without webcam games have huge fps drops. Even older games which can be run on potato. But when I turn on webcam its completely unplayable.

For Instance, without streaming I can run game with 20% cpu usage @150 fps. But with stream it barely runs at 80.. With camera on around 30-40.
I made some research but couldnt find any reasonable explanation.
Maybe some sugestions about codecs/settings I need to use?
Im using Xsplit - 720p 30 fps.
Camera - Logitech g922
I5 - 6600k @4.5
Rx 480
16gb Ram.

Thanks!

6600k cannot stream x264. Have to get Ryzen or X99, Even the 7700K struggles. Would recommend selling your cpu and get Ryzen 7 or use your GPU for streaming (much lower quality).

Well, shadowplay isn't that much lower quality, but it's noticeable. But seeing that he is using an RX 480, rip. Amd's recording software is Garbo.

Your CPU is going to limit you, sorry but the above posters are correct. The main reason is that your encoding WHILE gaming. You need like 6+ cores with hyperthreading or you need to encode your stream and push your stream to a different box while you game on your main PC. :-/ Kind of a bummer but thats the how it is. Transcoding/Encoding on the fly takes a lot of power plain and simple. That why sites like youtube do it once and store multiple copies of files in different resolutions on the server. Storage is cheaper than power.
