Fan rattling

Hey

Last month I bought a set of corsair af140mm quiet editions and a Corsair af120 quiet edition. After noticing a rattling sound on ALL fans when using them even at 500-700rpm, I decided to buy BeQuiet Pure Wings 2 fans instead. After installing these, i got the same sound. I'm sure it is the fans, as I have disconnected the harddrive, PSU fan isn't spinning (Semipassive unit) and the GPU fans aren't spinning and when I physically stop their rotation the sound stops. I noticed that the sound increased when I screwed them in place, so I'm wondering if my case could be the reason? I have a corsair carbide 330r blackout edition, and the corsair fans have full rubber mounts to prevent vibration transferrring to the case. However, they still make a rattling sound at all RPMs. What do I do? are there any fans that don't have this? Are the Corsair Magnetic levitation fans better, or maybe the BeQuiet Silentwings 3s?

Maybe you have losen screws somewhere in you case ? try to turn on the fans without being attached to the case just hold them in your hand and see if they rattle. If the don't then is your mounting/case the problem.

The fans have rubber mounts to reduce vibrations, and the case is sound isolated on all panels...

Hmm, can you take some pics of your fan areas, so we can see... not doubting that you can hear it BTW, I am very sensitive to sounds and get annoyed quickly. Just want to offer an opinion if there looks to be something not quite right.

Just closed the case and put it away, sorry. It happens with both the front fans and rear fan, but I'm currently talking to the retailer by mail so I'll see what I find out :)
