My build:

CPU: Intel Core i5 2320

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

RAM: Balistics 8x1 DDR3 1600

MOBO: Generic Dell Motherboard

STORAGE: Hitachi 300 GB hard drive

CASE: Dell XPS 8300 case

This is my gaming build. I bought a Dell XPS 8300 off of eBay and upgraded it quite a bit. I have about $125 dollars to spend right now, and I was wondering if I should upgrade or add something. The obvious choice would be the hard drive, but in the time I've had this PC, it's only been around half-full. I'd like to upgrade something that would directly affect performance of this system. Any ideas? An SSD? A CPU upgrade?

CPU,GPU etc are still way out of your price range, so I wouldn't bother with those.

However, spend some money on an SSD, where you'll be bound to notice the difference. An SSD can go for anywhere between ~$40 USD (120GB) or higher, so choose a capacity at your discretion. A 120GB would be a minimum though, if you're looking for SSD size.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Hmm. I would go for SSD. It won't increase your FPS but it will make your PC boot faster and feel more responsive.

If you get SSD 120 for about $50 you will have some money to add another mechanical drive for more storage. Or you can just get 250gig ssd for about $100

where? lmfao over here it's like triple that

im not talking shit I saw pbtech.co.nz last year sell i7-2600 for $100NZD. they are sold out now so they must have got a good deal at auction. I use to go to the auctions for business liquidations. During the '08 GFC I got some good scores. NZ gov gives students $1000 to spend on text books but i spent it on-selling computer hardware and that kept me out of job interviews for about two years. If youre paying $300AUD for a i7-2600 I should start exporting ex-lease to you. Ill hook you up $200 a piece and you can mark it up to $300. fukn mean.
