Looking for advice on a 1,500 build

NinerL

Is this a good build if I am looking to spend around $1,500? It's my first time building a pc. Thanks in advance

Looks good apart from the motherboard. With a K-series processor (in your case i7-7700K) you'd want a Z270 or Z170 motherboard so that you can overclock the chip for maximum performance. Unless of course you don't want to do that. What will you be using the PC for?

Some light gaming Smite/OldschoolRs/Battlefield, just watching movies. I don't really use Photoshop or editing software. Do you think it's a good build the price?

I mean, it's way overkill for your use-case, in my opinion.  Even a 1050 ti can get 60fps on high in all those but BF1.

Some light gaming, browsing the internet. I don't really use any demanding software.

It's way overkill for those uses. I can appreciate you wanting a badass PC, but IMO a GTX 1060 in a P400S can look just a beatiful as a 1080 in a Dark Base 900.

What resolution is the screen you'll be using?

its a nice build but pretty overkill.  you can go with a i5 7600k and be fine and you dont need a 1080i. but heck it aint my money.  go with a 1070 or even 1080 and you will be fine.  also if ur getting a k series cpu get a z270 or z170 motherboard.  also odds are you dont need thermal compuond as most cpu coolers already come with it pre applied

Current Rig=  AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, Asus Crosshair Hero VIII, EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 ultra, 32gb Corsair Vengence Pro RGB 3000hz White, EVGA 750 P2 PSU, 1TB Samsung 980 Pro, 500gb samsung 860 evo, 250GB Samsung 850 evo, 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, 2TB seagate firecuda sshd,  LianLi PC 011 Dynamic XL ROG edition, Corsair h150i elite capelix

Oh, that makes more sense. Yes, this PC will perform very well for some light gaming and movie-watching at 4K.

For what you plan on using your PC for, this what I recommend.  It has decent (more than enough for the listed games) performance plus some quality-of-life improvements.

No CPU?  I'd recommend the Ryzen 5 1600 when it launches tomorrow for good solid performance (about $220).

Midnight Rig - CPU: i7-7700K / Cooler: Corsair h100i V2 / Motherboard: AsRock Z270 Taichi / RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 3200Mhz / GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2 / SSD: Crucial MX300 525GB / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm / PSU: EVGA Supernova B2 750W

Look in other, and for what he's doing, I don't feel like it's a worthwhile upgrade.
