No Video

HorseMonkey13

Hey folks! I'm really new at this whole custom built PC stuff, and for the month or so that I've had it, it's been great. However, just today, it decided to go poof on me, and I don't know why. I was playing World of Warcraft, heading to activate a quest, and my PC just shut off. Ever since that happened, I can't get any kind of video from my PC to show up on my TV anymore. I've tried two different HDMI cables and ports as well. I even tried pugging the HDMI into the motherboard, but still no video.

This is my build:

Motherboard: Asus Prime X370 Pro

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700

GPU: XFX Radeon RX 480 8GB GTR Black Edition

PSU: EVGA 600/650w Bronze BQ

RAM: 1 Kingston Fury HyperX 8GB

I've tried some stuff, like reseating and moving the RAM, reseating the GPU, and even unplugging everything and plugging it back it. I also reseated the button battery thing on the motherboard, but I feel like that probably made it worse, because now my RGB light on the Wraith cooler isn't on anymore. I built this PC only a month ago, and it took all of my income tax money, so I'm hoping that someone can help me fix this or something. I don't want to, and I really can't afford to, buy any replacement parts. Thank you in advance for any help.

I don't have anything other than an HDMI. I've been using my TV for display since I put it together.

Do you have a regular computer monitor with a DVI or display port connection? Could always run to walmart and pick up a cable to test with.

Do you have a different TV you can try it on? Maybe the HDMI port went out on the TV. Next would be to try an adapter, like DVI to HDMI or something like that from the back of your card.

I can try another TV, but the TV I'm using has three different ports. I've tried two. The one I was using for the PC I could believe that maybe it went out, but the second one I tried has never had any problems, and I've used it more than anything.

Yea, if you tried several HDMI ports and cables, leads me to believe that maybe the HDMI port on your card is bad. Which card do you have?

So before I tried it on another TV or anything, I decided to try and reseat the Ryzen 7 1700 CPU. This is what it looks like. I'm assuming I need to go get some new paste or something, and clean it up? Could that be why it derped and isn't working properly?

Also, my video card is an XFX Radeon RX 480 8GB GTR Black Edition.

The Thermmal past application looks like it was good. Yes you will need to put a new fresh coat on it before re-seating the heatsink.

I would see if you can get a DVI or Display Port to HDMI adapter to see if you can get a video output through that.

Also just wanted to point this out, even though your motherboard has an HDMI output on it, there is not going to be any video from it as there is no Graphics solution with the Ryzen 7/5/3 CPUs.

I can try to get an adapter, but I don't have any money to use on side things currently. Plus, before I removed everything, the cooler's RGB stopped working, and the mouse and keyboard no longer worked. So I have no idea what to do. My TV's HDMI channel 2 lights up, showing that something is using it and on, but there just isn't any video showing. This would happen in the middle of me getting ready to move.
