1600$ Gaming PC

I am currently trying to build a gaming pc for around 1600$ and wanted to ask on your input on this current list:

More specifically if I should swap the motherboard for a asus z270-e which is around 70$ more expensive and wether or not I should get an over 550 watts power supply.

I replaced the STRIX 1080 with a 1080 G1, so that you can get a better motherboard.

dont really need a 1080ti for the games I want to play as a 1080 is already overkill for me, was originally considering a 1070.
Would you still recommend choosing the air cooler for my i7 7700k as ive heard that they can get extremely hot especially when overclocked

Considering that money, at least in the 100-150$ variation range, does not matter to me ( as long as I am getting noticeable improvements) would you suggest me to rather use the g1 gaming card or the asus strix one?

Also should i use the asrock motherboard or the asus z270-e as I have heard many good things about it

I thought the GTX 1080Ti would probably be a tad too excessive... but the option is still there if you want higher framerates...

 

I wouldn't expect to obtain a high overclock on something like the Cryorig H7. But there are big tower coolers such as the Noctua NH-D15 and beQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 that rival 240mm AIOs in cooling performance while also being producing less noise and possessing less points of failure.

The STRIX has better RGB lighting, but the G1 is $30 cheaper. Performance is identical between the 2 though.

Idk, but the AsRock Z270 Extreme4 is a very reliable board AFAIK. If you want to spend the extra on the Z270-E, you can, but if that's worth it is up to you.

Performance is the same but the G1 is a bit hotter and louder.

I'd say this build except get an 850 evo instead and use money saved to get a better 1080.

do you happen to know how big the performance difference between a 850 evo and a 960 evo is? not in read in write speed but real life difference, something that you can note when you are not actively looking out for it

In booting up and launching apps, difference is 0-1%.

 

When reading or writing large files to it, the difference is much larger, probably more like >50%.

 

If it's a pure gaming build though, booting up and launch apps won't see any difference, hence why I recommend the 850 evo. M.2 SSDs are more suitable for content creators.

build is for pure gaming so i'll get the 850 then and a better motherboard and 1080  

For the 850 though, should i get a m.2 or a SSD? since a m.2 is much smaller and apparantely has the same performance as a ssd

Whichever is cheaper. It's the same performance since it basically uses SATA in the m.2 slot. Performance is the same. It's just size that's the difference.

True that. Those Asrock boards besides reliable they are amazing overclocking boards. If you want to step up a notch I would even go Fatal1ty.

If you get a good air cooler like the Dark Rock Pro 3 or NH-D15 it'll be almost as good as an AIO while being quieter. I'd probably recommend one of the two, the D15 is a bit higher performance but the DRP3 is quieter.
