Not booting after upgrading RAM

Go to solution Solved by asand1,

Perhaps a bios update with the old RAM in?

I have recently decided to upgrade my RAM from 16-32. My old RAM is this: G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model F4-3000C15Q-16GRR

I recently bought this stick set: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3000C15Q-32GVRB

However, when I install the new kit, nothing. System kicks on, but black screen, no boot menu. Fans are running, everything is seated properly, no dice. This is a set supported per MSI website for my MOBO - MSI X99S SLI Krait Edition LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

While the current chipset on the new RAM states a z170 platform, it is validated for x99 per MSI again. So I am at a loss as to what is happening. I have done all the troubleshooting I know how to regarding this, but I am at a loss. any help would be greatly appreciated. Clearing the Cmos does nothing, placing in old sticks with these for boot purposes does nothing, one at a time does not work.

Like he said, check for a bios update and if your motherboard has a Memok button on it push it then try to boot the system.
