Since I saw Taran had done some E-Bike reviews I was hoping somebody here may have tried the BionX kits http://ridebionx.com

These seem to be the only real option available at a local store in the BC interior. Most important to me is how it can handle hills since I live pretty much at the highest point in town and its about 3km uphill home from work and about 6km uphill from Superstore. Speed is not a big deal to me I just want something for getting home that doesnt result in me stroking out. And that I can get local for a few hundred bucks

Maybe even do it up all badass like I did to my buddies scooter

Working as a bike mechanic I have experience with the bionx and shimano STEPS systems. Generally speaking, these systems are going to use pedal assist and NOT a throttle. Basically, it outputs power as you pedal rather than when you push a button. It's somewhat like being gently pushed as you ride and it makes hills a breeze. If you're looking for a better-than-nothing solution than even the cheapest bionx kit should be fine. I would strongly recommend talking to local shops and getting a quote before buying so that you can budget to have a professional installation done.

EDIT: Don't let the battery run flat
