Intel overclocking warranty

So, it turns out that when overclocking an Intel chip the warranty is voided and you need to buy a warranty for overclocking damage.Is it more of a peace of mind thing and that failure is a low chance because you will probably know if failure will happen? You just don't say "I overclocked it and killed it myself" when RMAing and they will send you a new one.

What im saying is, what are the chances of an actual cpu failure while overclocking and is the warranty more of a precaution

It won't fail if you follow a guide properly.

And they already come with warranty, you don't need to buy any special overclocking warranty or anything.

You can kill any CPU with enough voltage. Don't go over the recommended voltage for "insert cpu" and you will be fine. As far as the OC'ing warranty. It's pointless. Unless you would tell them you overclocked it, they have no way of knowing what you have or have not done.
