Okay, you've got 7 people living at the home with slow speeds.. That's the problem. Speak to your parents if they can get a better connection.

Ok, so my guess is you have a 15Mbps down and a 5Mbps up package.

The reason your speeds tank when you have multiple people using the internet at the same time is because you then take those speeds and divide them by 2 or 3 or 20 or however many devices are on at the same time.

The only way you can give yourself priority over other traffic is if your router has something called Quality of Service or QoS on it which allows you to limit the available bandwidth of people on the network and give more to yourself. So you'd have something like 10Mbps down and 3Mbps up while everyone else shared the remaining 5 down and 2 up. I'm guessing you're using the router provided to you by your ISP so my guess is that you're not going to have the QoS option.

If you know about QoS and that your router doesn't have it then what is the point of this topic?

Your router will always try to split the bandwidth evenly across all of its users without overriding it with QoS so your only option is to either get a faster internet package or only get on when others aren't online as well. I guess you could get a different router that has QoS but then you'd usually have to get a different modem as well if your ISP gave you a router/modem combo unit, which most do as it's cheaper.
