I have a budget entry level gaming pc of $550. A friend is giving me a gt 740 which is quit old. I was getting a i5-7600k would that make it run horrible with the old gt 740. I was going to use the gt 740 for a month when I get a better graphics card. Would those two combined be a huge problems I just want to play battlefield 1, CSGO, and GTA 5 for the time being

GT 740 can't run anything.

it's horrible for gaming.

Get a Ryzen 5 1500 with an RX 470 or 480 if possible.

the base is similar to an i7 but needs fast but low latency memory for good performance.
