I am fairly noob when it comes to stuff like this so please be gentle if this sounds stupid. My question is, if I am going from the AMD FX-6350 to the Intel 6600 is there any way to use the same operating system boot drive without reinstalling? I just need it to boot up and from there I can reinstall but as it stands I have the parts ordered and being delivered tomorrow to swap out for my Intel build and no memory stick to make a back up or disk drive to install from disk. I really don't want to be stuck without a PC as this thing is my life these days. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if it will work, but regardless, I suggest you just reinstall. You can pick up an 8gb flash drive from a drug store for like $10 if you don't have one.

That's the issue, my entire budget is blown now and I cant get anything more for weeks. A flash drive isn't an option for me right now, that's why I asked here but thanks for the reply anyway. Does anyone else have any pointers on how to get past this issue?

If its windows 10 it will just boot and redo it's own drivers and install. I would advise you to strip the old motherboard drivers before disassembly though

Thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear. I also have several Hard Drives in the current system so would it be a wise thing to maybe use one as a back up image storage device and use that as boot to install Windows fresh? that's not an issue to do and just one more thing, would using a system image to reinstall the OS make a fresh install on the new system? Thanks for all the replies, you lot are legends :P
