I would have 2 monitors for productivity because on one you can be doing something and on the other you can be doing something else. that's what I think anyway but for watching movies I would get an ultrawide like @SamStrecker said before. For gaming an ultra wide would be good to have but 2 monitors will be fine also.

ultrawides are awesome!

only 2 problems

1 many movies arn't recorded at 21:9 (some newer ones have a weird aspect ratio that many don't like)

2. some games don't play well (or at all) with 21:9, the most exlent example is Witcher 3, it doesn't have support for 21:9, there are mods and ways to try and get it, but they sometimes don't work on some configs

The 1440p monitor. 25" ultrawides aren't worth it. At that size there is no benefit for an ultrawide because there is more screen area on a 25" 16:9. I have a 25" ultrawide and I regretred getting the second I got it because it is really short and is dwarfed by my 23".

25" Ultrawide is so small it is not even included in this comparison ;-)

 

Unless your needs are very specific to the ultrawide aspect, remember that 16:9 content will be quite small. Unless you stretch it.
