well i know this is a bit odd, but since you bio says you live in Florida, how much was the shipping costs?

Had it since I was in Jersey. It was about $8 at the time.

SO after such  good reviews from Linus i really wanna get a IFIXIt pro tech toolkit, but i have been looking through the amazon reviews, and they are not great ( ordering from there for the free shipping)   So i am wondering is it just people writing whatever, or is something wrong with the amazon Kits and if so Should i buy directly from their websites then ?,

Cause according to these reviews, they say its poorly built, and like terrible materials used and the kits are poorly put together, and such , so i am just wondering if any of you Own one, what do you suggest i do ?

I don't own one myself (although I do plan to treat me to one on my birthday) but on amazon.com, 75% of people give the toolkit 5 stars, 16% of people 4 stars, and so on.... only 1% of people gave it 1 star. its not poorly rated at all. Don't let outliers, trolls, and the competition ruin your interpretation of a product. less than 10% of people gave it 3 stars or fewer. its a great product with a great rating from a great company.

Also interested in this. If you buy from another reseller, do you still get the lifetime warranty or do you only get it if you buy directly from ifixit and not from other retailers like Amazon?

I have one that was purchased directly from their EU store, but I doubt they're any different from the ones on Amazon. They're made of extremely good materials, it's probably the most quality feeling tool kit I've ever come across.

EDIT: I've so far used it to take apart and fix a bunch of Bang & Olufsen phone chargers, a handful of Macbook Airs, a Macbook Pro, an iPod Touch 7th Gen and a few other bits and pieces. It's worked very well for me so far, I have no complaints with it.

I have one and only one of the sprudgers broke. Great toolkit and great support. Spudger was easily purchased (and to an updated model) through the company website.

oh, well, its just the shipping costs i am wondering about, but if there is life time warranty then i wouldnt mind spending the extra money , and i can get to use linus's special code, to show him my support as well :)

I got one last year, LOVE the screw driver, barely touched the wide selection of bits it has, also used the tools to replace the headphone jack in my tablet (which I also bought from them), wouldn't say I'm a big fan of the plastic pieces, they don't feel all that great to me personally, I ended up using the metal tool to pry the panel off the back of the tablet. at the very least get the 64 bit driver kit if you can't afford the full kit. Also came SUPER SUPER FAST, like I couldn't believe how fast, Ordered it at 4 AM Saturday morning while watching the just uploaded WAN Show archive, it shipped from Cali and was in Georgia by like Tuesday morning, NEVER seen shipping that fast, it ALWAYS takes a WEEK for me to get crap from Cali.

oddly enought the main reason i am getting them is for the driver kit mainly, but i think the full package is really good to have ,

definitely a cleaner way to carry the driver kit around. paid for itself on the first use twice over by not having to buy a new tablet.
