HELP

So I built my new pc, it turns on, every part lights up or spins but I can't see my screen. I've tried clearing cmos and checked every plug. it isn't my monitors fault because I've tried hsmi dvi and a million combinations. 

 

Specs:

Msi z170a m7

Gtx 1070

Deep cool captain 240ex

Phanteks enthoo evolv

16gb vengeance led ram

I7 7700k

Evga 850 g2

Did you update the BIOS on the motherboard?

It is quite likely (given post-code 62) the motherboard you have has an older bios which does not support that cpu. In that case you will need to flash a newer bios using a cpu that works with the existing bios.

Way easier is to just buy a Z270 mobo...

Idk prob not, I don't really want to anyway. I bought the Mobo in december.

I can't get another CPU, is that the only option....?

Unfortunately, yes.  If you can return the 7700K you can get a 6700K for a little less.  If not, borrow a skylake CPU from a friend maybe?

I just moved so I don't have any friends :/ and I'm not down grading to a 6700k just for a bios

Whelp, you can't use your PC without a BIOs update.

You can try to find a computer shop that will flash the bios for you. Or purchase a cheap skylake cpu to update the bios. 

 

I had to do the same thing to update my z87 board. The nice thing is you will have a spare cpu for an emergency.
