Hey all, just joined the forums about 5 minutes before typing this post and just figured I'd say hi to you all and introduce myself!

As my screen name suggest, I do work in the repossession industry, I am fairly new still, I've only been in this line of work for about a year now, and have learned within my first week of starting, there's a lot of knowledge to be gained so every moment I'm working I'm potentially learning so that's good. Before anybody asks, no, repossession is not like it is on TV, there ARE crazy people out there that act like they do on TV, I have not encountered too many of them yet but time will only tell.

Anyway, I started watching LTT a few months back and really sort of picked up an interest in building computers. I don't have that much of a background for it as I was never really interested in it when i was younger, but now I see all the cool stuff you can put into a computer to make it into a monstrous powerhouse and also (not regretting this either) all of the really cool aesthetic aspects that go into building a PC especially now with the really neat and clean cable management builds where the cables all seem to be non existent, because they're hidden and just sort got intrigued and LTT was the first youtube channel I started watching regularly to gather up knowledge as far as computer systems go and all that so I'm really excited to learn even more and hopefully become even more knowledgeable so I can figure out what the best bang for my buck is.

Thanks for having me and I'm sure I'll be buzzing around with millions of questions.

interesting job you got there.. what's it like repossessing something? (if you dont mind me asking)

Honestly, I thought I'd feel a little more ashamed or guilty but when it all comes down to it, I'm just the third party service hired to pick up the vehicle so the person getting repossessed doesn't have any reason to get mad at me. Which I go the extra mile for every person whose car I pick up if I make contact with them. I understand we're only human and we lose track of things so I usually let them have a couple minutes to call whoever they need to to work out some sort of agreement so they can keep the vehicle and if that works out then the loan agent calls me and tells me to drop the car and I drive away, and the situation is resolved for the time being.

How would you find out about my friends, or even acquaintences, or even independant storage paid in cash.

Without giving too many trade secrets away, I can say that some repossession agents offer their accounts additional services in order to secure the collateral while staying legal. All I have to say is make sure you know what you are putting out into the public domain. Remember, when you have a loan out on a vehicle through a bank, credit union, etc. you don't physically own it until you have paid it off completely.

MisterRepoMan. Why?

Why put that as your username!?

It's baffling.

I'm conflicted. :/

There's actually a couple reasons: 1. I couldn't come up with anything else to put as my username and 2. It's my nickname in real life that my friends outside of work and all my family call me so it just sorta stuck.

Plus, I don't really see a big deal in it. I have nothing to hide and am not ashamed or scared to tell people I work in repossession. :)
