Moving entire copy of HDD onto another HDD

I want to build a new PC with SSD as Windows 10 main boot drive, and an external HDD for mostly everything else but I want to transfer ALL the data from an old computer with windows XP. If I were to use data migration software, it would copy the entire drive including windows xp onto the new one if i'm not mistaken. So, if I migrated the entire drive with XP onto the new HDD, is all of the data accessible in windows 10? I will NOT be booting into windows XP from the new HDD.
