Assembled my new rig

( https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zPCjgL ) and turned it on, but i cant' get the screen to work to get into bios, also when i try to shut it down, it won't - unless i switch the button to 0 on my power supply. Funny enough, my friend (we are building them together) has the exact same build just a different graphics card (geforce 1070) and we got to his bios easily.

How are you trying to shut your PC down?

Also how (or rather to what) is your monitor connected? To the GPU or to the mobo?

Friends computer turns off just fine pressing the case power button. Monitor is connected via hdmi. I also tried running it with my old asus gtx video card, the problem still persists.

is the HDMI plugged into the GPU or motherboard, if motherboard that's the problem. If not try resetting bios maybe
