Just got a loop all put together. The pump I'm using is the EK-XRES 100 Revo D5 PWM.

Its not running consistently or constantly. It ramps up and shuts off, ramps up and shuts off. I've gotten it to run correct a couple times when restarting the computer. But stops working correct once windows loads in fully.

So it seems I can get a signal to it. But something is preventing it or something weird is going on. Anyone have any ideas?

Using it with a Maximum Code and a 7700k

Did you set up a profile for it in the bios, much like you would a fan? The PWM plug is gonna be connected to a header on the board which uses a temp as dictated in settings to control the fan/pump speed. Normally the CPU. You need to go in and alter the fan/pump profile in q-fan or whatever it is called in your bios to set a temp vs speed gradient. You will find that the gradient is probably too low  at the CPU's idle temps and therefore the pump won't run, just need to up the minimum speed

Yeah. Did that. I should just be able to use the water pump fan header which is set at 100%. Neither works.

Sounds like a setting aint right, the fact it works until it boots into windows says this to me

My pump and fans load up at full speed until windows starts loading up, then they drop down to the fan curve

try a different header or double/triple check the bios settings for that header - its getting the signal to flash up.

As a side not, I originally ran 2x 3.2 DDC PWM Ex-res in my old rig and one of the them had issues when it arrived and it was due to the pump housing being too tight, took like 1/4 turn off 2 or 3 of the hex-bolts and it's still working flawlessly now
