all of the above?

First thing I did was grab an SSD, it really made my PC feel faster, and you can carry it over into any new system.

But I think in your case I'd consider scrapping the entire thing and starting off new. You can of course keep the case if you like it, or the DVD writer if you need it. And maybe have a look at your HDD and see if it's still any good...

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

It depends on what you do with your computer. If you're gaming but on a tight budget I would recommend waiting for the new AMD APUs so you can get by on integrated graphics until you can afford an upgrade and you'll get more cores for less money than you would from Intel.

Yeah no way I'm scrapping the whole thing and getting a SSD is off the list. A bit too expensive man.

Well, what are you using the PC for? And what wattage does you "generic PSU" put out?

And according to your signature you already have a plan for what the system should look like in the end. You seem to be planning to keep the motherboard and RAM (make sure the mobo is compatible with your new CPU ^^), in that case I'd consider picking up the new GPU first (as @Fraser Cow said), although it may be bottlenecked by the Pentium.

Last but not least, consider picking up a small SSD for your OS, booting will be so much quicker. And the prices are dropping...

The problem is if the GPU gets bottlenecked that won't be much fun would it? ;-;

Just wait, maybe get a spring/summer job and save up ~500 dollars and then start upgrading things.

That's quite honestly the best thing you can do. Plus the hardware you are looking to get will continue to drop in price, so you'll effectively save even more money
