Spilling Liquid On PC?

A few minutes ago I spilled mountain dew ;) on my desk and a small amount went onto my desktop. It has an nzxt s340 so theres a fan on top, and a small amount went in. Paranoid me opened up the pc and wiped off every surface that had 1 little drop, and it seemed pretty dry in there. Everything seems to be working now, but could there be something I'm missing/any long term effects?

Man mountain dew is a killer. Sugary drinks are the worst. Water will eventually evaporate and you aer good to go. Sugary drinks leave sugar beind which is sticky and somewhat conductive. It is the worst in laptop keyboards as it seems fine for the first week then slowly all the keys seize and stick and stop working. I would wash it off with isopropyl  alcohol. But it sounds like you didn't spill a lot.

I've spilled Gatorade on my PSU before and didn't see any effects for 3 months so just be extra cautious. It might seem ok but it could just be sitting there dormant until some dust gets caught in it and shorts something.
You could try to blast it with compressed air but there's still a chance that could make it worse by spreading it

With sugar drinks it's possible it works after the initial damage but the hardware does end up being dead after a few days/weeks.

This is because in sugar drinks are like acid/toxic things, harmless-ish for a human, but it's possible that it stays behind as a residue and starts to cause corrosion, possibly ending up killing the hardware.

 

If it works in a month, i would say it's very likely fine, but if it dies somewhere in the next few days/weeks, you know why.
