Upgrade to Ryzen?

Hi there, 

 

i'm currently running a 4770k @ 4.5.

And i was thinking of updrading to a ryzen 7 chip (not sure which one)

I primarily use my pc to edit video's en game (With an emphasis on gaming)

Is it worth It? (Gpu: 980Ti)

Ryzen 7 is a bit slower than the i7 in games, but if you're editing videos as well it shouldn't be a huge issue 

 

what kind of setup do you have? particularly your monitor?

If you are going to be mostly gaming, there is no need to upgrade to Ryzen 7. If you do a fair amount of video editing, then go for it. Depending on the Ryzen 5 benchmarks, that might be the best choice for you

because most ryzen cpus only do 3.9 to 4.0 if you want to buy a ryzen chip go for the 1700 as that has the most cores for the cheapest.

because your i7 can clock higher the more cores you can buy the bigger diference you will notice

    Ryzen is not as far behind as initial Reviews suggest.  Testers are now finding that Ryzen scales huge with DDR4 speed due to other motherboard clocks having to do with pcie performance and cache speeds running at a direct % of the ddr 4 speed so essentially faster ram overclock other stuff . Most testers at launch either were only able to or only took the time to get the memory to 2400 or just ran it at 2133. Ryzen sees between 12-25% just by going from 2400 to 3200 .
