Need chair recommendation

So i need a new chair to replace my current dx racer. It must have superb back support. I work from home so i spend up to 14+ hours in it. I have a budget of about 300$ to spend.

I dont have an ikea near me unfortunately. Nearest is in minneapolis which is about a 7hr drive one way.

do you have an office supply store nearby? they should have chairs out to sit and try

Check out eBay, there's a retailer that clears out their Herman Miller open box product on there.

You'd have to shell out a little more money (depending on the options you want), but you'll get a solid chair worth significantly more. One of my friends has back problems, absolutely hates his DX Racer, loves the Herman Miller he got.

I'm glad the DXracer/clones of the design haven't been suggested here. We have a couple at work and they are horrible. It's like sitting with a plank of wood for the back.

 

Any chance you have a link to that retailer? I've been tempted by HM chairs but that like $1000+ entry point is pretty steep.

Have u see vertagears more premium offerings? (hardwarecanuks has reviews) they are a bit out of the price range (Triigger 275 / Triigger 350) but if you have back problems or something maybe its worth it?

Any of the racing seat designs aren't going to be suitable. OP is best sourcing a proper office chair that provides lumbar support.

Yeah, I don't know why so many people here love them. I can only assume it's because they're all kids and their bodies don't care too much about how non-ergonomic they are. I don't, but if you look for open box models there's one seller that has tons of them on there. The name also matches their online store, they have tons of feedback.

I drove to my nearest Office Max which was 1.5 hrs away and bought an office chair for $300 that was on sale. I loved the butterfly area that supports the lumbar and has great back support.
