Hi guys! So next week I'll be joining on my first OC Competition!

Since this is my first time, any advice on the competition itself? This is a standard one I think, since they use an AIO cooler (no modification allowed).

Here is the hardware which will be used in the competition:

Spoiler

Motherboard ASUS Z270G Strix Gaming

CPU Intel i3 7350K

Cooling ID-Cooling Frostflow 120

RAM TEAMGroup Delta 3000c16 8GB kit

VGA ASUS GTX 1050 Ti EXPEDITION

SSD TEAMGroup L3 120 GB

PSU Enermax MaxPro 500W

Monitor ASUS VP228

Keyboard Mouse ASUS STRIX

And here is the rules (translated):

Spoiler

Main Rule:

- If the SSD gets damaged in the process there is a replacement available

- If other parts except SSD gets damaged in the process the team is ground for instant loss

- No BIOS update or software modification is allowed

- Hardware modification is disallowed

Tools:

- Fan

- Equipments such as screwdriver, pliers etc

- Multimeter

- Debug/POST code

- Lucky Charm

Cooler Rule:

- No modification is allowed to the cooler

- Dry ice, liquid nitrogen, peltier, portable cooler, waterchiller is strictly prohibited

Benchmark Software:

·         Geekbench memory score

·         Geekbench 3 multi core

·         3DMark 11 Physics

·         3DMark Time Spy Physics

·         Cinebench R11.5

·         Cinebench R15

·         3DMark Fire Strike

·         3DMark Ice Storm

·         3DMark Time Spy

·         3DMark11 Performance

·         GPU-PI for GPU 1B

·         Aquamark3

I don't really get it. We are not allowed to open the case but we do have those equipments and multimeter. And about POST code.. Well I've never go to an OC competition so I don't know much about it. So far I've never used the POST code to aid me in overclocking.

But yeah, there you have it! Suggestions, feedback and advise is highly appreciated!

if the board allows bclk consider using it alongside standard multiplier OC

pump as much voltage into it as needed, dont be scared to push 1.45+ into it, doesnt have to be stable for daily use, just OC

stress with realbench to see if the OC is stable

idk

Hi and thanks for answering! I don't have that board, but I do use Maximus IX Code and it do allows it. I could only hope that board also allows it.

Software modification is disallowed, and I think that also includes no installation is allowed.

Furthermore, there will be no internet connection. Even though this is sponsored by ROG, RealBench isn't listed in the software list.

Do you ever use the multimeter anyway?
