Hi! Lately I've been needing a laptop for university purposes (programming and editing documents), but I want to make an investment on it just to use it for other things things like streaming, after searching some models, i'm between the following ones:

  • MSI Apache Pro GE72VR (1632€)

  • MSI Dominator GT72VR (1632€)

  • Asus ROG GL702VM (1587€)

I'm between those three but any suggetions is welcome. For the first one there's a bundle for the same price that includes a carrying bag and a mouse at my Amazon (Amazon from Spain), and for the second one, the same bundle but with headphones too, also for the same price. My budget is around 1600€. Thanks in advance!

I read on some places that ASUS is better, why do you say that? Just interested, a lot of places just say "This one" or "The other" but without arguments to support the election.

rog usually have bad build quality, bad cooling, one of the worst battery life so it suffers from long term use.

Speaking of which, never buy an Acer Aspire laptop.  The build quality and overall quality control on those things is just godawful.

as someone who had bought an asus rog laptop at the same time as my friend bought an msi laptop i would have to disagree. my laptop ended up having a much better cooling solution and rog generally has really good cooling solutions. that being said their new line of laptops have some models that were a bit crap but I wouldn't say they usually are at all. they generally have some really good quality gaming laptops.

this was like 4 years ago so i cant quite remember. that being said i know friend who got last gens rog laptop and it was a nice quality laptop and asus has always been pretty good at making good laptops. to say that rog usually makes crap laptops is just not true and is kinda irritating. yeah they have made some bad laptops this gen but that is quite uncharacteristic of the rog brand. i mean all of my friends who have owned rog laptops all agree that they were quite good for the price.

They had a few pretty good budget offerings back in the day. And even the 17in ones were pretty niche, but good. They were HELLA quiet. It's been going downhill from their. Now the quiet slot is taken by GT73VR and essentially all their gaming lines. They fucked it up.

yeah the main thing i liked about the rog line of laptops was that they didn't look quite as flashy as the msi laptops. unfortunately the current gen laptops are all over the place besides the really high end.
